Regarding claims regarding the tennis player’s relationship with his father, Stefanos Tsitsipas filed a lawsuit against his former physiotherapist. Even before they terminated employment last month, the 26-year-old father, Apostolos, served as his coach.

Tsitsipas appeared to have become irritated by his father’s nonstop yelling from his box after losing to Kei Nishikori in the ATP tournament in Montreal. In response, he released a tirade, declaring he would switch coaches due to the way he had been handled.

Jerome Bianchi, Tsitsipas’s former physiotherapist, has since made accusations regarding the dynamics on the Greek player’s team and in his family, though. Bianchi, who left Tsitsipas’s squad in 2022, claimed that other players found it difficult to focus because of Apostolos’s guidance during training.

Additionally, according to the French source L’Equipe, Tsitsipas felt stuck in his working relationship with his father. The Tsitsipas family has now decided to file a lawsuit to regain their prestige and dignity.

A statement provided to the Greek publication Tennis 24 read: “Regarding the republishing of the article of the French newspaper ‘L’Equipe’ containing statements by the former physiotherapist of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jerome Bianchi, with whom the collaboration ended in 2022, we would like to inform you that the Tsitsipas family has instructed the Papathanasiou-Confino law office (Paris) to take the necessary legal actions, so as to restore the prestige and dignity of the family, affected by the statements of the physical therapist in question. You will be informed soon about the development of the case.”
