Jannik Sinner has continued his remarkable 2024 season by becoming the fourth active male player to reach the semi-finals of all four Grand Slams. The 23-year-old Italian achieved this feat after defeating Daniil Medvedev in the US Open quarterfinals in four sets, completing a milestone only accomplished by a select few in the current era.

Their clash at Flushing Meadows marked the third time Sinner and Medvedev faced each other in a Grand Slam event in 2024. Earlier in the year, Sinner triumphed over Medvedev in the Australian Open final, while the Russian secured a five-set win in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. However, this time, Sinner finished the match in four sets, sealing his spot in the US Open semi-finals.

Sinner made his Grand Slam debut in 2019 at the US Open and reached his first semi-final at Wimbledon in 2023. His semi-final appearances at the French Open and the US Open in 2024 have demonstrated his rapid rise to the top, along with his ability to excel across all surfaces.

“I’ve worked hard to improve my game on every surface. It’s been a journey, and to reach the semi-finals in all four slams means a lot to me,” Sinner said after his victory.

His strong groundstrokes, consistent adaptability, and ability to master clay, grass, and hardcourts have made him one of the most versatile players on the ATP tour. Sinner’s growing success in the Grand Slams further cements his status as a formidable contender for the biggest titles in tennis.
