Jack Draper continued his impressive US Open run by defeating 10th seed Alex de Minaur in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, 6-2, advancing to the semi-finals. Despite concerns over an injury to his right hamstring, Draper played through, securing his 15th consecutive set in the tournament.
“This is not an overnight thing for me. I’ve believed for a long time that I’ve been putting in the work,” Draper said.
“I didn’t know when my time would come, but hopefully, I can do amazing things from here.”
Draper also credited his improved mental resilience. “I’m mentally a lot better. I know my body will pick up small injuries, but I kept going,
” he explained, reflecting on past career setbacks. Despite challenges, Draper remains confident, calling his journey to the semis a privilege and honor.
