Karolina Muchova, reflecting on her recent comeback from surgery, revealed the unexpected yet touching support she received from World No. 1 Iga Swiatek during her recovery. The Czech tennis star, who could potentially face Swiatek in the next round, expressed her gratitude for the encouragement Swiatek offered both in person and on social media.
Muchova shared, “She really supported me when I got the surgery. It’s always nice to get that support, especially from her being World No. 1.”
Both players have a history dating back to their early WTA tournaments in Prague and have shared intense practice sessions. Muchova acknowledged the competitive yet positive dynamic between them, emphasizing the challenge and intensity of playing against Swiatek. “They’re a nice team. That’s just cool,” Muchova added.
