If you think that the “Anti-Djokovic” is Federer or Nadal, you need to think again! Andy Murray is back in great shape to dismiss Djokovic 6-3 6-3 in 95 minutes in the final in Rome. That was a great way for the Scot to celebrate his 29^th birthday.

Djokovic looked very nervous also to have a quarrel with the umpire about the court that according to Nole was too heavy. Eventually, the Serb conceded his serve once in the first set and twice in the second to never be able to break Murray.

Andy was extremely pleased with his results to comment “It’s mostly great players that have won this event, so I’m very proud to have my name on the trophy. Today against Novak it was nice. I know he didn’t play his best today. But there were still some tough moments for me in the second set.

…saving break points was the key

Andy has managed to defend all break points (3) to comment “I saved the break points well and held strong. And overall it was a great week for me. I didn’t lose a set.” 

With this win, Murray conquers his 36^th career title 12^th ATP1000, and he ends a losing streak (4 matches) with Djokovic. Andy will regain the second spot in the rankings starting from Monday.
