When it comes to his criticism of the Jannik Sinner doping scandal, Nick Kyrgios says he has no regrets at all. The Italian’s case and other cases, according to the 2022 Wimbledon finalist, have been handled with differential treatment.

A true bombshell was dropped last Tuesday when it was disclosed that Sinner had failed two doping tests in March due to the discovery of a prohibited steroid in his system.

Because his team was able to identify the product and demonstrate that it was contaminated quickly, the world’s number one player was not suspended for a day. Thus, while the investigation was still going on, the 23-year-old Italian was permitted to play again on the Tour.

Kyrgios talked about it and said: “I think I stand by every word. Everything I put on social media, I have to stand up for. I’ve seen a lot of my friends go through doping cases and get suspended. We’ve seen players like Halep and everyone else and it seems like every time one of those cases comes up, there’s always a different process for different players.”

Recently, Dutch tennis player Van de Zandschulp expressed his remarks on Sinner’s case and criticized Kyrgios. He said: “I’m not the type of person who makes quick judgments, unlike Kyrgios. This is a complicated issue. If they’ve established that Sinner has done nothing wrong, I believe it. He would never do something like that. This is the last thing I would expect from him.”
