Tennis Australia supports Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios is managing to achieve great results even if he still needs to mature from a mental point of view. Last summer was quite horrendous for the young Australian that was caught in all sorts of controversies, but this year things are much better.

Nick is finding some continuity and nobody is now even surprised when he beats a top10 player (yesterday in Rome he defeated Raonic in straight sets).

The relationship with Tennis Australia

Apparently, Nick is also enjoying a good relationship with Tennis Australia that acknowledges the improvements of its best player.

Kyrgios is doing everything in the right way

Tennis Australia spokesman and tennis legend Todd Woodbridge commented “Nick’s done a really good job at containing himself and learning and getting better. He was in the press last week for having a discussion for a line call, but if we’d have watched every other player last week, it would have been the same.

“So I think Nick’s going about everything the right way; he’s planning his schedule and it’s very important for him to stay fresh and that’s what’s he’s been able to do. He’s taking breaks and, when he’s fresh, his mind’s fresh and he plays well. For him to be lumped into the media last week was a pretty unfair assessment.”

Great to hear that. Next step: breaking in the top10.

A NICE GUY
