Nick Kyrgios keeps on rising!

The Australian no.1 had an excellent performance against Milos Raonic to beat the world no.10 7-6 (5) 6-3 in the 2nd round in Rome. Nick had the upper hand for the entire match as the Canadian looked a bit too slow in his movements and not at ease with the conditions in Rome. After winning the first set in the tie-break, Kyrgios got a quick 5-1 lead in the second set. Then the Australian lost the concentration, and he dropped two games before winning the match after 87 min.

Next vs. Nadal

Nick will play Rafael Nadal

in the 3rd round. The head to head is 1-0 for the Australian that has defeated Rafa 2 years ago in Wimbledon. This year on clay things could be different.

Talking about the match, Rafa commented “Tomorrow is a tough match against a player that is for sure one of the best players of the world. He played well today against a tough opponent like Milos Raonic, so it will be a tough match for me. I need to be playing very well tomorrow, and it’s an opportunity to play against a great player. I’m excited about it.”
