Nick Kyrgios didn’t defeat Kei Nishikori in the Madrid quarter-finals, but at least he left a gift to his tennis fans.
What happened?
Kyrgios was trying to bring the 1st set to the tie-break. He was serving on a 5-6 30-0 score line when he went to the net, but Kei managed to come out with a great lob that the Australian had to chase to the baseline before producing yet another magic… love that!
Nishikori back to down Kyrgios 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
We wonder what tennis will be like post Federer, Nadal, Djokovic.
If it’s like that, fine.

Kyrgios wins the highlight reel (tweener lob winner) but loses the essential

Though Kyrgios lost to Nishikori, he did register a spectacular shot with this tweener-lob. #SCTop10 https://t.co/F8syOTs59c
