Critics believe that discussions about Frances Tiafoe have started to wane because American tennis players like Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz are leading the way. Due to a patchy performance lately, the tall American has been overlooked a lot. There is a lot of talent in American tennis right now, and players are competing to move up the rankings. In the midst of all of this, Tiafoe has proven his doubters wrong by reaching the Cincinnati Open 2024 summit match.

Ayan Broomfield, the girlfriend of Tiafoe, recently acknowledged the American’s “Why not me?” camera message leading up to the Cincinnati Open final against Jannik Sinner. To qualify for the Masters 1000 event final, Tiafoe defeated Holger Rune, the 15th seed, on August 18.

The American silenced his doubters by upsetting the pre-tournament favourite, Rune, with the support of the home crowd. To set up a matchup with Jannik Sinner in the championship, Tiafoe proved everyone who had written him off by winning the final-set tiebreaker.

Posting a story on her Instagram, Broomfield shared a glimpse of the camera, on which Tiafoe wrote: “Why not me.”
