Nick Kyrgios is poised to make his much-anticipated return to competitive tennis, marking his first significant appearance since late 2022. Kyrgios, who has been sidelined by injuries, announced his participation in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) New York, scheduled for August 22-23 at the Forest Hills Stadium.

The UTS New York event represents the second leg of the UTS Tour this year, following the initial installment in Oslo in February, where Andrey Rublev secured his second UTS title. Kyrgios, known as “King Kyrgios” in the UTS community, has largely been absent from the professional circuit, with the exception of a brief one-match appearance in Stuttgart in 2023. His last notable participation was at the season-ending ATP Finals in November 2022, where he partnered with Thanasi Kokkinakis.

In a video post on his Instagram account, Kyrgios shared his excitement about returning to the court. “I want to inform anyone that keeps up with UTS, or is a tennis fan out there, that I will be competing on the 22nd August at the Forest Hills Stadium in New York,” Kyrgios stated. “I know it’s been a long time. But my body’s finally ready to get back out there and have some fun.”

UTS New York promises to be an electrifying event, with tickets still available for purchase. Fans and tennis enthusiasts eagerly await Kyrgios’ return, hoping to witness his signature flair and dynamic play.
