At the Cincinnati Open on Thursday, Jack Draper defeated ninth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets after winning the previous three games with bravery.
In the third set, Tsitsipas served for the match at 5-4, but Draper took the next 12 games to win 12 of the 17 points, earning a thrilling 3-6 6-4 7-5 victory and advancing to the third round.
Dimitris Chatzinikolaou, the Greek Davis Cup coach, has accompanied him to Cincinnati. Tsitsipas acknowledged that Dimitris was helpful, but he is still searching for a full-time coach.
Tsitsipas showed his kindness and compassion by giving the Greek city of Thessaly’s flood victims 100,000 euros the previous year. Following the catastrophic storm Daniel, he acted quickly and gave to the Red Cross to help those impacted by the devastating floods.
Recently, he raised his voice for the wildfire victims in Greece. He wrote on X in a supportive caption: “The flames may have scarred our land, but they will never diminish the spirit of Greece. Let’s come together, support one another, and rise stronger from the ashes. My thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted.”

At the moment ranked no.11, Tsitsipas played his last match on the 15th of August when he lost to world no.28 Jack Draper 3-6 6-4 7-5 in the 2nd round in Cincinnati (draw).
