Romeo Beckham, 21, posted a photo of his father David laughing during a loss on Instagram on Wednesday to commemorate his win. Brentwood FC forward Romeo happily waved a “L” sign in memory of his father, while 49-year-old David shook his head and laughed while wearing an orange tank top and white Adidas shorts.
The two took on Diego Schwartzman, the rising star of Argentine tennis, in a fierce game of padel in the sun. Pedele, a racket sport similar to tennis that is played in pairs on enclosed courts, gained popularity in Mexico in the 1960s.
Romeo, the second son of Victoria and David Beckham, posted the outcome of the close match on Instagram while bragging about his triumph. There’s no better feeling than beating your dad, he boasted in the photo’s caption, which included an emoji of a flexing arm and a laughing face.
David, however, reshared Romeo’s picture with a fresh caption after acknowledging his defeat.
“Had to let you win one game at least.” He also shared another photo of the trio outside the padel court, writing, “Fun Padel game against @dieschwartzman & @romeobeckham. Dad WON sorry guys England Win.”
Romeo smiled as he peered over David’s shoulder in the photo. David had on a green Adidas tank top and a white cap. Diego, 31, appeared flushed and went shirtless after the game.
Diego also posted a selfie with Romeo in the shade, posing for his 715,000 Instagram followers. Romeo wore a backwards Nike cap and a white tank top that accentuated his tattoo, looking just like his father. He heightened the playful rivalry by adding a laughing emoji and the comment “revenge coming soon” to David’s post.
Social media users frequently post the antics and lighthearted competitions of the Beckham family, who are renowned for their competitive nature.
