Coco Gauff, who is set to defend her title at the Cincinnati Open, has opened up about the pressure she feels as she prepares for the tournament. Despite being just 20 years old, Gauff has already achieved remarkable success in her career, including winning her first Grand Slam title at the US Open last year and securing seven WTA singles titles. Currently ranked world No. 2, the American tennis star acknowledges the internal pressure she places on herself to continue achieving more.

As Gauff reflects on her accomplishments, she admits to struggling with the constant desire to “do more.” However, she is making a conscious effort to appreciate her achievements and use them as motivation for future success. “I always put pressure on myself to do more, but sometimes it’s just nice to say I did well,” Gauff said. She emphasized the importance of taking a step back to recognize her successes and using that experience to propel herself forward.

Gauff’s career has been nothing short of impressive, with significant milestones including a fourth-round appearance at Wimbledon at just 15 years old, a runner-up finish at the French Open, and a doubles Grand Slam victory at this year’s French Open with partner Katerina Siniakova. As she heads into the Cincinnati Open and prepares to defend her US Open title later this month, Gauff remains focused on balancing the pressure with an appreciation for her journey thus far.
