Iga Swiatek has adopted a measured approach as she begins her campaign at the Cincinnati Open. Speaking at her Media Day press conference, Swiatek emphasized the importance of gradual progress and realistic expectations.

“We’re taking it easy, doing everything step by step,” Swiatek remarked, acknowledging the challenges of adapting to new conditions. Despite this, she expressed confidence in her preparation, noting, “I had a couple days to really get used to the surface, so I’m trying to do the best job possible every day and entering the court next day knowing I can do something better.”

Swiatek also highlighted her strategic mindset for the tournament, viewing it as an opportunity to refine her game. “I’m going to treat it as a practice tournament,” she explained. “Not in a way that I don’t care but in the way that I want to implement all the stuff I’ve been practiced, and I think that’s the best approach for me.”

This careful and thoughtful approach reflects Swiatek’s dedication to continual improvement, as she balances ambition with the realities of competitive tennis.
