Auger-Aliassime defeats Tsitsipas to reach the semifinals of the Fever-Tree championships

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Felix Auger Aliassime faced each other in the quarterfinals of the Fever-Tree Championships.

Tsitsipas is easily one of the most watched players in tennis at the moment. Auger, on the other hand, is one of those players who has made a drastic improvement in his ranking in the last 4 months from No.104 to No.21

The Canadian teen’s victory over the 6th ranked player in the world will let many believe that he will soon be among the top. He has played really good tennis on grass this season and it seems that he is set for some big achievements in Wimbledon.

The Match

This was a classic battle for Auger in which he showed that he can play really well under pressure. The Canadian saved all the 7 break points that he faced in the match and converted 3 of the 5 break point that he got.

In the first set of the match, the Canadian and the Greek played well on the serve to equal at 5-5. Auger won the next 2 games to win the set 7-5.

In the 2nd set, the Canadian star was at his best. He broke twice in the set to claim the set 6-2.

Auger won the match 7-5 6-2 in one-hour and 38-minutes.

The eighth seed will now face the Spanish veteran Lopez in the semifinals and the way he s playing he should surely play the finals of the tournament.
