Emma Raducanu made headlines when she won the US Open in 2021. The British athlete recently described it as the pinnacle of her career and disclosed that winning the Grand Slam title wasn’t without its difficulties.

Raducanu placed second in the Chicago Challenger event before competing in the US Open, which aided in laying the groundwork for her Grand Slam victory. After winning three consecutive sets, she impressed her way into the main draw despite starting 31st in the qualifying.

Additionally, the British player was the first qualifier in Open Era history to win a Grand Slam title. When she started the event, she was ranked 150th; by the finish, she was ranked 23rd.

But the victory was not without its challenges. Raducanu stated in a recent interview: “Winning the US Open was my career highlight. It came with a lot of challenges but I think that what it gave me outweighs everything else.”
