There is a rather strong pack for an ATP250 in Munich. The seeds are Goffin, Monfils, Thiem, Kohlschreiber, Fognini, Bellucci, Pospisil and Zverev.

The defending champion is Andy Murray that has won his first career title on clay after defeating Kohlschreiber in the final 7-6 (4) 5-7 7-6 (4).
