The Cincinnati Open offers players a rare opportunity to finish their preparations for the US Open, the final Grand Slam event of the season, which takes place from August 12 to August 19.
Because of this, the player field is always quite packed, and the Cincinnati Open entry list for this year is no exception. However, there was one noteworthy absence: Novak Djokovic, the reigning champion, will not be taking part in the competition.
The top two seeded players at the 2024 Cincinnati Open, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, are the clear favourites to win the most of that, as well as the $1,049,460 that will be given to the winner along with 1000 ATP points.
The losing finalist will receive a very large compensation prize, with a $573,090 increase in the prize money account and an important 650 points added to their ATP Rankings point account.
Everyone’s chances rise significantly when the reigning champion Djokovic withdraws from the competition, making this distribution even more thrilling for players with lower rankings.
