With the 2024 Cincinnati Open just around the corner, Naomi Osaka asked United Airlines to find her lost belongings. To compete in the WTA 1000 tournament, the Japanese competitor stated that she required her suitcases to arrive in a few days.
Currently participating in the North American hard-court swing, the four-time Grand Slam champion began her season with a wildcard triumph at the National Bank Open.
In just one hour and eleven minutes, the 26-year-old defeated Ons Jabeur 6-3, 6-1, demonstrating a spectacular start to his career. But Elise Mertens put a stop to her campaign in the following round, winning 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and thirty-one minutes.
The Cincinnati Open is Osaka’s next stop on the WTA Tour. But there was an unpleasant development involving her. The Japanese player, unable to take part in the next WTA 1000 event without her lost bags, requested assistance from United Airlines in locating them.
She tweeted: “Lol @united lost my bags and if I don’t get them tonight or tomorrow I literally can’t play Cincinnati.”
