Roger Federer found it tough to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga but somehow managed it. It was a gripping battle which the Swiss star won 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 7-5.
The Match
In the first set, both the players were superb on their serves and the set was levelled at 6-6. It was decided in the tiebreak which was won by the Swiss (7-5). The first set went to Swiss star 7-6(7-5).
In the second set, Tsonga was 3-1 down, (He lost his opening service game) but fought his way back to go the distance. The Frenchman broke the 9 time Halle champion in the 6th and the 10th games to win the set 6-4.
In the 3rd set, both the players were levelled at 5-5 but Federer claimed the only break of the set and won it 7-5.
Roger Federer will now face in the quarterfinals which will be his 17th in 17 appearances in the tournament.
