Rafael Nadal and Kei Nishikori will start their campaign in Barcelona.

Rafa is coming from a glorious week in Monte Carlo where he has won his 9th title. The King of Clay is eager to show to everybody (and himself) that he is back and Barcelona is the perfect venue. Rafa will have a tricky opener against an-inform Marcel Granollers, but Nadal can count of a solid 3-0 h2h record against his compatriot.
Nishikori
Kei has a more approachable task to play world no.102 Thiemo de Bakker. The Japanese has trashed the Dutch in their only encounter this year in Acapulco (6-0 6-3).
