Two Grand Slam winners, Caroline Wozniacki and Bianca Andreescu, have been given wild cards into the main draw of the Cincinnati Open, which takes place August 11–19. Canadian Marina Stakusic and American Taylor Townsend have been handed qualifying wild cards.
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek and No. 2 Coco Gauff, the reigning Cincinnati Open winner, lead the field of original entrants, which is joined by the four main draw wild cards.
With thirty career victories under her belt, Wozniacki is returning to Cincinnati, where she debuted on the WTA tour in 2005 at the age of fifteen. She was the 2018 Australian Open champion and a two-time finalist at the US Open. The native of Denmark held the top spot in the WTA rankings for 71 weeks.
In 2019, Canadian Andreescu, then 24 years old, won the US Open. That season, she won two more titles and reached a career-high ranking of No. 4. She advanced to the championship round of the grass-court competition in’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, in June.
Among the 115 Cincinnati Open competitors who competed in the Paris Olympics were Andreescu and Wozniacki.

Now the world no.175, Andreescu played her last match on the 29th of July when she was defeated by world no.21 Donna Vekic 6-3 6-4 in the 2nd round in Paris (draw).
Until now, during this year the Canadian has a composed 9-5 record. Bianca Andreescu’s most significant result of this year was getting to the final in Hertogenbosch.

Currently ranked no.70, the Dane played her last match on the 29th of July when she capitulated to world no.8 Danielle Collins 6-3 3-6 6-3 in the 2nd round in Paris (draw).

Bianca Andreescu and Caroline Wozniacki clashed against each other just twice. The head to head is 2-0 for Andreescu. Previously, the last time they played, Bianca Andreescu won 6-4 6-4 in the 3rd round in New York (U.S. Open) in August 2019.
