After his team’s historic Olympic gold victory, Novak Djokovic’s press conference was pleasantly interrupted by Viktor Troicki, the captain of the Serb players’ team.

Djokovic defeated the always-excellent Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final to secure a golden career slam. In a close match that saw the opening set last more than ninety minutes, Djokovic won 7-6, 7-6 in Paris.

Despite being 37 years old, the 24-time grand slam winner may yet have even higher goals in mind. In four years, Djokovic has his sights set on the next Olympics.

That prompted the former player and leader of the Serbian team, Troicki, to poke his head through the door. The citizens of Djokovic could only chuckle.

Djokovic laughed and said: “Look, I still want to play in Los Angeles. I enjoy playing for my country at the Olympic Games, particularly the Davis Cup. It’s something about being part of a team. He’s making fun of my calendar goals by playing in Los Angeles. I don’t know if he’s laughing because he thinks it’s unrealistic or he’s like, okay, another four years with this guy.”
