Jannik Sinner has landed in Montreal, where he will participate in the August 6–12 National Bank Open Presented by Rogers. After defeating Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-1 to win his first-ever ATP Masters 1000 championship in Canada last year, the Italian will look to stage a successful title defence.

The Italian player has an impressive 22-1 record this season on hard courts; the only loss on the record came in a three-set encounter during the Indian Wells semifinals against Carlos Alcaraz. After winning the title in Miami, Sinner is going for his third career Masters title and his second this year.

He has been able to travel to Canada ahead of schedule and start preparations to increase his chances of winning his championship defence thanks to the additional time off. The drawing is scheduled for Saturday, and the 22-year-old will hit on Wednesday afternoon. Alongside Sinner in Canada will be Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev.

Sinner wrote on X: “Good to start hitting again and looking forward to building from here.”
