Rafael Nadal, the famous tennis player from Spain, turned 38 this past month. The 22-time Grand Slam singles champion has seen significant injury setbacks recently, which fuelled speculation that he will soon retire from the sport he has dominated for such a long period.
Nevertheless, Nadal made every effort to debunk the rumour that his legendary career will come during the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Shortly after the first round of men’s doubles matches at Roland Garros, Nadal hinted that his long-standing rivalry with Novak Djokovic is far from over.
In the first round of the men’s singles on Sunday, Nadal will take on Marton Fucsovics of Hungary. The Spaniard had earlier expressed doubt about facing Fucsovics. He talked about it and said: “I don’t know if I’m going to play or not.”
After competing on Saturday, Nadal stated that he wanted to talk about his plans for Sunday’s tournament and then make the best choice to return home with a medal.

Now the world no.161, Nadal played his last match on the 29th of July when he lost to world no.2 Novak Djokovic 6-1 6-4 in the 2nd round in Paris (draw).
At the moment, during this season Nadal has managed to achieve an overall 12-7 match record. Rafael Nadal’s most significant result of this season was getting to the final in Bastad.
Nadal is scheduled to play next at the U.S. Open (U.S. Open). He will start from the main draw that will commence on the 26th of August.
