Rafael Nadal has a great performance against Dominic Thiem in the Monte Carlo quarters. The Spanish legend had to recover from 1 break down in both the 1st and the second set to win 7-5 6-3 after 2 hours and 3 minutes.
The key of the match was that Rafa has managed to defend 15 break points of 16 in the 1st set.
Nadal d. Thiem in another generational tug of war, 75 63. Saves 15 of 16 BPs in 1st set, which was 2016’s best so far. #MonteCarlo

The quarter vs. Wawrinka
Rafa will play an in-form Wawrinka in the quarters. The Swiss has exterminated home favorite Gilles Simon in the third round 6-1 6-2.
The head to head between Rafa and Stan is 14-3 for the Spaniard, but Wawrinka has won 3 of their last 5 encounters and he has won their last match in on clay (Rome 2015). Stan should be the favorite to get to the semi.
