Andy Murray is not in his best shape, but he will definitely be happy to have won a marathon against an in-form Benoit Paire in the Monte-Carlo third round.
Murray came from the brink twice against the Frenchman. First when he managed to win the second set when was 2-6 0-3 and 2 breaks down. Then in the decider when Paire failed to serve out the match when he was 5-4 up to lose 3 consecutive games. Eventually Andy won 2-6 7-5 7-5 after 2 hours and 32 minutes.
Murray wins a plain weird match against Paire.
Now faces Raonic, who has won his last two in deciding set tie-breaks and had treatment.

Murray. I fought hard
Andy was well aware he was far from his best tennis to comment “He gave me an opportunity in the middle part of the second set when he started to make a few mistakes. It still wasn’t my best match, but I fought as hard as I could right to the end and managed to get the win based on that.”
Murray pulls a Houdini and beats Paire in 3. He was down & out & round the corner and in the sea. And won. ✌️ pic.twitter.com/jBDosttCfs

The quarters vs. Raonic
Andy will play the quarter against Milos Raonic. The Canadian had to survive a dangerous Dzumhur to beat the Bosnian 6-4 4-6 7-6 (5). The head to head between Murray and Raonic is 4-3 for Andy, but Milos should be the favorite this time.
