Federer may play in Madrid and Rome

Roger Federer wants to play!

The Swiss Maestro has been sidelined for a couple of months by a knee operation and a virus that have prevented him from playing Rotterdam, Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami. Roger has decided to participate to the Master1000 in Monte Carlo (he wasn’t supposed to) and he is not ruling out the possibility to play in Madrid and Rome.

Why I may play in Madrid and Rome…

During a recent interview Roger commented “I’ll do an important physical training block after this [Monte Carlo]. I have entered in Madrid and Rome, but at the moment I do not know if I will play these two Masters 1000s or if I will play only one. Everything will depend on the result I get here.”

… winning is not important now

Then the Maestro added “I simply look to the first round. Winning or losing is secondary than having good feelings about my knee or having the pleasure to be to the Tour again. If you win your first round, automatically you want to win the next, then next, then next, and then in the final you think about victory and you say to yourself that it’s possible. I played well here in the past, but as I said, it’s secondary. I am so happy to be in Monaco.”
