Why Federer thinks he can do well in Monte Carlo

Roger Federer is ready to fight!

The world no.3 is fully recovered from his knee operation and the virus that prevented him from playing in Miami. The Swiss Legend is rather upbeat about his upcoming campaign in Monte Carlo for various reasons.

Why Federer is optimistic

During a recent interview the Maestro commented “I’m happy to say that I’ve recovered well from the virus in Miami. At first, I was concerned that it might be something that would last a while, but I was feeling better three days later.

I arrived in Monte Carlo 9 or 10 days ago and I’ve been training on center court for the past eight or nine days. Things are going well. I’m happy with how I move; how I’m hitting the ball. I’ve played a lot of practice sets.”

Roger will kick start his tournament against Garcia Lopez. The head to head is 3-0 for the maestro that has never conceded a single set to the Spaniard.

Roger has never won the title in Monte Carlo. He was the runner-up in 4 occasions (2006, 2007, 2008, 2014).
