While attending the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, Serena Williams took a moment to express her happiness at seeing Coco Gauff hoist the American national team's banner.

During her presence at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, Serena Williams took a moment to share her joy at watching Coco Gauff carry the American national team’s flag.

This week American tennis player Gauff accompanied NBA superstar LeBron James in carrying the US Olympic team’s banner during the ceremony. The 20-year-old Gauff acknowledged being shocked to hear the news and said she couldn’t believe she would get to fly her country’s flag beside one of the sportsmen she looked up to the most.

Williams was also present to see it all, even while Gauff was enjoying her unique moment.

Williams said when asked about Gauff: “It’s amazing. Isn’t that great? I’m so excited to see her tonight. I’m just so happy for her. Oh god, I love it.”
