Not yet Borna, not yet!
“Next Generation” Borna Coric was eager to win his maiden ATP title, but he still needs to wait for that. The 19 years old loses to Federico Delbonis in the Marrakech final 6-2 6-4. Delbonis was far too consistent for Borna that will have the chance to win his first title very soon.
Delbonis
This is Federico’s 2nd career title after Sao Paulo 2014 “I’m very happy to win again on the ATP World Tour,” commented Delbonis. “I played at a great level today and it’s great to lift the trophy here. I took my chances, but it was not easy. In the end, I did my job and got the victory. This is what I work for. To win at this level, you have to be mentally focused the whole match.”
Coric has also lost a final early in the year in Chennai (to Wawrinka); he will now go and try his luck in Monte Carlo. It’s just a matter of time.
