Giorgi, Cibulkova to play for the Katowice title

Camila Giorgi and Dominika Cibulkova will play for the title in Katowice.

The Italian Beauty defeated rising star Jelena Ostapenko 6-4 6-3. The Italian and the Latvian displayed the same “big-hitting” style, but eventually it was Camila to take advantage of her experience to win the match in straight sets. “I like the surface very much and the fans make playing in Poland very special for me,” Camila commented. “I hope tomorrow I can finally win the trophy.”

Cibulkova

In the other semi, Dominika had to battle only in the 1^st set against world no.113 Pauline Parmentier to win 7-5 6-0. Dominika is chasing her 5th career title.

Giorgi and Cibulkova have played each other twice. The head to head is 2-0 for the Italian.
