“Next Generation” Borna Coric is running fast in 2016. The young Croat has just reached his 2nd final of the season in Marrakech. Borna was the runner-up in Chennai in January after losing to Stan Wawrinka in the final.
Coric reached the final in Marrakech after defeating Jiri Vesely 7-6 (5) 7-6 (5) in 1 hour and 57 minutes. After winning the opener, Borna had to recover a 0-3 deficit in the second set. Eventually Coric broke Vesely in the 5th game (2-3) to win also the second set at the tiebreak.
Borna won this match even if he scored 5 points less than vesely (79 vs. 84)
Coric. I feel quite confident
After the semi, Borna commented “It was a very good match for me. I’m very young and have a lot of space to learn and improve, but also I’ve been on the tour for many years now and I feel quite confident now.”
