Tennis fans’ excitement for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris has reached an all-time high after the confirmation on Wednesday of the 16 mixed doubles teams that will compete at Roland Garros.
The top 16 teams were chosen based on the combined rankings of both players. As the host country, France had a spot reserved, but they didn’t require the special exemption because their players were ranked highly enough to enter directly.
Leading duos like Laura Siegemund and Alexander Zverev will be the top seeds in the mixed doubles event. In the quarterfinals, they might have to contend with Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff.
At the Olympics in Tokyo, Zverev also took home the gold in the men’s singles division. Second-seeded doubles specialists Matthew Ebden and Ellen Perez are followed by American duo Gauff and Fritz in third place. They will be competing in mixed doubles together for the first time.
The fourth seeds are Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari. Together, they had advanced to the Tokyo Olympics quarterfinals in the past.
Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2024
Now ranked no.12, the Greek played his last match on the 20th of July when he was defeated by world no.50 Matteo Berrettini 7-6(6) 7-5 in the semifinal in Gstaad (draw).
Currently, during this year Tsitsipas has achieved a composed 32-13 record. This year, Tsitsipas lifted the trophy in Monte-Carlo. The Greek got to the final in Barcelona.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will play the world no.555 John Isner in the Round Robin on Sunday at 6:00 pm on CENTER COURT. Their record is 6-2 for Tsitsipas.
Stefanos has won 1 title in 2024 in Monte-Carlo. Stefanos was the finalist in Barcelona (Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell).

Alexander Zverev in 2024
At the moment ranked no.4, the German played his last match on the 21st of July when he surrendered to world no.20 Arthur Fils 6-3 3-6 7-6(1) in the final in Hamburg (draw).
Presently, during this year Alexander owns a 44-13 win-loss record. Alexander has won 2 titles in 2024 in Australia and Rome. Alexander was the runner-up at the French Open and Hamburg.
Alexander Zverev will come up against the world no.19 Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Round Robin on Sunday at 2:00 pm on CENTER COURT. Their current record is 6-2 for Zverev.
Alexander clinched 2 titles in 2024 in Australia and Rome. Alexander reached the final at the French Open and in Hamburg (Hamburg Open).

Daniil Medvedev in 2024
At the moment ranked no.5, Daniil played his last match on the 12th of July when he was defeated by world no.3 Carlos Alcaraz 6-7(1) 6-3 6-4 6-4 in the semifinal in Wimbledon (draw).
Presently, during this year Daniil has a 33-10 win-loss record. Daniil Medvedev’s best result of the current year was reaching the final at the Australian Open and Indian Wells.
Taylor Fritz in 2024
Ranked no.11, the American played his last match on the 10th of July when he lost to world no.17 Lorenzo Musetti 3-6 7-6(5) 6-2 3-6 6-1 in the quarter in Wimbledon (draw).
Currently, during this year the American has a 35-13 win-loss record. Taylor conquered 2 titles in 2024 in Delray Beach and Eastbourne. Fritz was the finalist in Munich.
Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz played each other once. The head to head is 1-0 for Medvedev. When they played, Daniil Medvedev won 7-6(1) 6-3 in the quarter in Cincinnati (Western & Southern Open) in August 2022.
