Officials from Novak Djokovic’s team have announced that the Serbian player made the decision not to remain in the Olympic Village during the 2024 Games in Paris.
The tennis legend won’t be living with thousands of other players and sports celebrities since he has reserved his accommodation to allow him some peace while he competes for the gold medal in the Olympic tennis event.
In what may be his final Olympics, the 37-year-old will be driven to win his first gold. He won his only Olympic medal in Beijing in 2008, where he finished third for Serbia.
After losing the Wimbledon final in straight sets, Djokovic is putting all of his attention into this tournament, which involves staying away from the Olympic village.
An organizing member of Djokovic’s team said: “We expect Novak to arrive within the next few days, although he will not be staying with us in the village.”
Djokovic opted not to stay in the Olympic village this time, right decision imo if you remember last Olympics he spent a lot of time and energy constantly doing selfies and understandably had many Olympians simply in awe of him. It’s nice but can become a distraction and tiring.
