Holger Rune, the talented 21-year-old tennis player, has unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the 2024 Croatia Open in Umag. The reason behind his withdrawal is a wrist injury that he sustained during the Hamburg Open. Rune had to retire from his Quarter-Final match against Arthur Fils, who went on to win the title.

Last year, Rune had an impressive clay court season, making two ATP Masters 1000 finals and delivering solid performances. However, this year has been more challenging for him. His wrist injury not only affects his participation in Umag but also raises doubts about his availability for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Rune was expected to play both singles and doubles alongside Caroline Wozniacki in Paris, but the scans on his wrist have cast uncertainty over his participation.

Will Rune play the Olympics?

Despite the setback, Rune remains grateful to his fans and appreciates the tournament’s support. He expressed hope for a return to the court soon. As the tennis world gears up for the Olympics, we’ll keep an eye on Rune’s recovery and whether he can make it to the prestigious event.
