Even though Carlos Alcaraz is fresh off back-to-back Grand Slam victories, he still has a great deal of respect for Rafael Nadal in the lead-up to the Olympics in Paris, emphasizing that Nadal is the one who needs to hear the other side.

Alcaraz, who now has four Slam victories after winning the French Open and Wimbledon, has been unbeatable over the past two months. Alcaraz’s next objective is to do well in his Olympic debut, where he will play both the singles and doubles competitions alongside Nadal.

Alcaraz has nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for Nadal, even though he hasn’t won any championships since the 2022 French Open—mostly because of serious injury problems.

Alcaraz said in an interview about Nadal: “Not much. He’s also doing his thing, and we’re doing ours. We talk very little, but when we’re at the games, we’ll talk about doubles and, above all, how we’re going to do it. I’m not nervous right now. When the time comes, I will be. And yes, obviously, he’s already experienced this; he already knows what it’s like to play in the Olympics and win gold in both singles and doubles. I’m new; I’m the rookie here, so I have to keep my mouth shut and just listen to him.”
