It’s always nice to see a tennis player winning an important title: everything looks smooth, there is a lot of happiness and the paycheck is often great. That doesn’t mean that the life of a tennis champion is easy. Roger Federer is well aware about the sacrifices he has to endure every single day especially after being a father of 4.
Federer. It’s a day to day grind…
According to Roger winning big titles involves not only a mental toughness during the critical points, but also the ability to deal with lots of sacrifices. “I’m not sure, you know, if it’s the most important to be tough in the points, tough in the biggest moments, but it’s also day to day grind you go into,” Roger commented
…it’s so much more than just crunch moments
Then Roger added “Are you willing to leave home for two-three months. Are you willing to train really hard, are you willing to put up with the media, the team? There’s maybe, not so much privacy. Are you ok with all of that? Are you ok to do that for 15 straight years
“It’s so much more to it than just the crunch moments, but clearly those are the ones that are going to make you win a certain tournament.”
Federer is currently in Monte Carlo where he will play his first tournament after his knee operation.
