Coco Gauff is broadening her business empire outside of the sport. Although she is still competing in major tournaments, she is connected to multiple businesses and is ranked second in the world by the Women’s Tennis Association.
She recently expanded her collaboration with the massive transportation company UPS to launch an initiative to support small businesses. The advertising campaign, Coco vs. The Doubters, features Gen Z company owners who defy the odds in their endeavors. According to Forbes, UPS has a $117 billion market capitalization and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
Gauff talked about it recently and said: “I realized a lot of (negative) things that are told to small business owners are also told to athletes. I like to partner with things that are extensions of myself.”
Gauff gave one piece of advice on how to succeed as an entrepreneur in an interview with Forbes. She believes that entrepreneurs must possess delusions.
She said: “I think delusional is great. All of the greatest athletes and greatest artists have to have a little bit of craziness and delusion. Having a little bit of craziness in your goal is kind of healthy.”
