Kei Nishikori can’t forget the trauma he had when he moved to the USA when he was only 14 years of age to train at the IMG Academy in Florida. The Japanese no.1 couldn’t speak any English and he was home sick, but eventually that paid off.
Nick Bollettieri remembers those years when the young Nishikori was training hard to reach the very top of tennis and he is impressed with his improvements.
After Nishikori won the quarters in Miami, Nick tweeted “Congrats @Gael_Monfils & @keinishikori! Great match @MiamiOpen! Kei came to @IMGAcademy as a soldier and has become a warrior!”
