The entire tennis world is excited about the battle between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner; just as before, it was anticipating the matches between Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Djokovic. Boris Becker discussed the significant disparities that now exist between the two young champions. The most evident is physical stamina, which is likely Sinner’s weak point and something that hurts him in lengthy matches.

Nevertheless, the challenge that everyone had sought and anticipated did not materialize. Everyone was talking about the match between the 21-year-old Spanish player and Sinner, who sadly had to exit the tournament in the quarterfinals after losing to Daniil Medvedev, who subsequently lost to Alcaraz in the semifinals.

Becker recently expressed his remarks about Sinner and said: “In the last year, Jannik has made great progress that has allowed him to win a Slam and climb to the top of the world rankings. However, I believe that the problem in managing the fifth set is evident. When one of his opponents takes him to the fifth, he can have this belief: The more I can extend the match, the more my chances against Jannik increase.”

He added: “The reasoning is completely different with Alcaraz because never losing in the fifth has a mental reflex opposite to the case of Sinner. He will have to work to improve his performance in the decisive fraction, especially to fight against the Spaniard in the Majors.”

Sinner’s first loss as the ATP No. 1 was the setback against Daniil Medvedev. The Italian gave up after a four-hour battle because he was unable to overcome his illness during the third set and the physical challenges he faced during the match.
