Boris Becker discussed the significant disparities that now exist between the two young champions. He added: “The reasoning is completely different with Alcaraz because never losing in the fifth has a mental reflex opposite to the case of Sinner. He will have to work to improve his performance in the decisive fraction, especially to fight against the Spaniard in the Majors.”
Sinner’s first loss as the ATP No. 1 was the setback against Daniil Medvedev. The Italian gave up after a four-hour battle because he was unable to overcome his illness during the third set and the physical challenges he faced during the match.
