In a hilarious comment, Casper Ruud said that Carlos Alcaraz is probably too busy celebrating his Wimbledon victory, but he’s willing to provide the four-time Grand Slam winner some advice on doubles matches with Rafael Nadal.
Ruud and Nadal advanced to the Bastad doubles semifinals on Wednesday, defeating Theo Arribage and Roman Safiullin in a thrilling contest that saw them save a match point.
It was evident that the 37-year-old Nadal started the announcement that he and Ruud would play side by side in Bastad to get some preparation in before the Olympics in Paris.
Nadal made his team debut in Bastad alongside Ruud, and he will make his pair debut at the Paris Olympics, which begin on July 26.
Because Ruud and Nadal’s doubles debut is going well so far, the on-court interviewer showed interest when Ruud mentioned that Alcaraz should contact him for some tips.
Ruud hilariously talked about it and said: “Carlos? He’s busy probably partying after winning Wimbledon so he has all the right to enjoy and take some rest. If he wants I’m available on the phone.”
