The 2024 Wimbledon Championships final saw Novak Djokovic lose badly, forcing him to postpone his incredible career’s 25th Slam. The former world number one acknowledged that he felt a great deal less than Carlos Alcaraz, a Spaniard who used a brilliant strategy to keep his opponent from really getting into the match.

One of Djokovic’s close friends and former Real Madrid player, Gareth Bale, was among the numerous VIPs in the stands during the Wimbledon final.

Djokovic talked about Bale in a recent interview and said: “Really humble guy. I love his golf. That’s where we actually connected more last year, in the Ryder Cup All-Star match that we played together. Yeah, he was giving me some tips for golf. We had dinner there, and we spent a few days together. That’s, I think, where we really developed a nice relationship. So I invited him to come. And of course, I’ll invite him again. I don’t know if he’s going to watch the England match later on. I’m not going to comment on that. But he’s always in my corner and it’s great when he can come and watch and support.”
