When talking about his duty as a father in a recent discussion, Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena gave him an eye-roll. The two kids of the 37-year-old father are at Wimbledon to cheer on their dad as he advances to the semifinals.

On Wednesday, Djokovic and his family were pleasantly surprised with a day off when Alex de Minaur withdrew from his scheduled quarterfinal match against the Serb owing to an injury.

Djokovic used that as an opportunity to discuss his experiences thus far at the event this year. When questioned in the interview about what he hoped his kids saw as they watched from the stands, he said: “Out of the two parents, I’m the one who is responsible for their activities, sports, healthy lifestyle.”

After glancing over to his wife, Jelena, in the studio, Djokovic continued: “Exactly – she’s rolling her eyes right now as I’m speaking! I keep reminding them of how important it is to be active and do sport, whether it’s tennis, or whatever it is. Just be active, be out there. I try to take them with me in tennis every day. Even if it’s match day I want them to be here with me because they’re very special occasions. Maybe just a few tournaments a year where I can experience what I’m experiencing here with them.”
