In a note released on social media, Novak Djokovic honoured his wife after being married to her for ten years, Jelena.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion posted numerous pictures and videos of himself and Jelena to Instagram along with a 98-word message to his partner.
Tennis was one of their shared loves when they first started dating in high school, and it has helped the couple grow as a couple. Jelena was a player as well. If it weren’t for his wife, who knows what it takes to be a professional tennis player, Djokovic feels that his career would not have lasted as long or been as successful.
Jelena claims she only plays tennis for entertainment, generally with the kids, while her husband is still quite competitive. September 2013 saw the couple announce their engagement, and the following year they were married. In 2014, the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony on the premises of the upscale Aman Sveti Stefan resort in Montenegro.
Djokovic wrote a lovely note for Jelena on his Instagram: “Ten years of joy, Ten years of dreams, Ten years as islands, Ten years as streams. Ten years as parents, Ten years as one, Ten years of dancing, Ten years of fun. Ten years of yoga, Ten years we stretch, Ten years of dogs, Ten years of go fetch. Ten years of flying, Ten years at sea, Ten years of you, The best part of me. Ten years of tennis, Ten years of balls, Ten years of triumph, Ten years of falls. Ten years as teammates, Ten years together, Ten years Jelena, I love you forever. I love you.”
