Injured Kokkinakis will not play the Olympics

Thanasi Kokkinakis is not having a great 2016. The young Aussie has been operated to his shoulder to miss the Australian Open and now the Olympics because of a low ranking (no.119).

Kokkinakis. I do not know when I am back…

Thanasi shared his thought about his condition “It’s slowly getting better. I haven’t started serving yet; I’m hitting the forehand at probably 50 per cent and the backhand at 90 per cent.”

Kokkinakis does not know if he will play even Roland Garros, where last year reached the third round losing to Novak Djokovic. “The clay court season is probably my favorite time of the year, and I really want to play the French Open (June), but if I don’t, so be it. I can play it for the next 10 years, hopefully.”

… missing the Olympics is disappointing

Then Thanasi  shared his disappointment for missing the Olympics” That’s the most disappointing thing, I was looking forward to it.”
