Rafael Nadal wins a great quarter final against Kei Nishikori in Indian Wells (quarter).
The King of Clay has struggled against Nishikori only at the very beginning on the match when he suffered from an early break in the 3rd game (1-2). The key moment was when the Spaniard won 8 of 9 games when he was trailing 1-3 to bring the match score line to 6-4 3-0 for him. Eventually the match ended 6-4 63 for Nadal after 93 minutes.
Nadal. My return was important
Rafa explains how he won this match “[He] started so quickly, hitting all the balls very well and serving great,” Nadal commented. “Then he started to miss some first serves, and I returned his second serves aggressively. That was so important in the development of the match.
“My return was important. At the same time, my serve was enough good for this match.”
The semi vs. Djokovic
Rafa will play a blockbuster semi against Novak Djokovic. The head to head is 24-23 for the Serbian that is the hot favorite to win the semi… and the tournament.
