Djokovic plays violin with his racket for her daughter Tara at Wimbledon

Following his Wimbledon victory over Alexei Popyrin, Novak Djokovic celebrated his daughter Tara's introduction to the violin by making a little gesture with his racket.

Djokovic Plays Violin

After defeating Alexei Popyrin at Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic enjoyed himself with a violin by racket in celebration of his daughter Tara, who took up the instrument this year.

In their third-round match on Saturday, Popyrin, an unexpected Australian, grabbed the first set, forcing the seven-time Wimbledon winner to dig deep.

Popyin’s massive serve and one-handed backhand delighted the centre-court audience as Djokovic took his time trying to figure out how to overcome a challenging opponent.

After the match, the 37-year-old walked back into the centre of the court, taking in the cheers from the Center Court audience. He then put his racket on his shoulder and pretended to play the violin.

Many people on social media expressed confusion at the gesture and questioned the purpose of the celebration.

However, Djokovic told the media that the event was a memorial for his daughter. He said after the match: “That was for Tara. My daughter has been playing violin for some time already, six months, and we agreed that I would celebrate that way.”
