Novak Djokovic’s commitment to Wimbledon goes beyond his victories on the court. Recently, the Serb surprised fans and pundits alike when he joined the ground staff on Aorangi Park to help remove court covers after rain delays. BBC Wimbledon host Clare Balding was particularly impressed, highlighting Djokovic’s dedication amidst his busy schedule and recovery needs following knee surgery.

“Now, have a look at this,” Balding remarked, “Novak Djokovic, this is what you do on a day off, he’s out on Aorangi (Park) and he joins in with the court coverers to try and help them get those covers off. That’s brilliant stuff.”

Despite a recent knee surgery and rigorous match schedule, Djokovic’s willingness to assist the ground staff resonated deeply. His actions not only showcased his humility and work ethic but also endeared him further to the Wimbledon community.

Nick Kyrgios, who recently practiced with Djokovic, acknowledged his effort on social media, adding, “I’m in there as well working my a** off.”

Djokovic’s journey at Wimbledon has been remarkable, overcoming physical challenges to advance to the fourth round. He faces Holger Rune next, acknowledging that his fitness is still a work in progress.

The gesture from Djokovic reflects his commitment to the sport and his respect for the tournament’s traditions, leaving a lasting impression both on and off the court at Wimbledon this year.
